PV Sindhu declares as Deputy Collector

Andhra Pradesh, 16 May: Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Tuesday announced ace Badminton player PV Sindhu as Deputy Collector under the AP Public Service Commission (APPSC) Act.


The Minister stated that the Andhra Pradesh government is proud to give her the honour and added that the  Act will be duly amended to accommodate Sindhu.

Pusarla Venkata Sindhu is an Indian professional badminton player, who is currently world no 4 in the BWF World Ranking. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she became the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal.

The move earned appreciation from the Assembly members with BJP legislator Vishnu Kumar Raju applauding the decision. He said that such moves would encourage the sports persons and also let youth to commit themselves to their careers and earn laurels for the state.
