i. The 7th CPC has recommended abolition of Ration Money Allowance (RMA) and free ration to Defence officers posted in peace areas. It has been decided that Ration Money Allowance will continue to be paid to them and directly credited to their account. It will benefit 43000 Defence officers.

11. Allowances to Scientific Departments


i. The recommendations of 7th CPC to abolish Launch Campaign Allowance and Space Technology Allowance has not been accepted. In order to incentivize the supporting employees in Space and Atomic Energy sector, the rate of Launch Campaign and Space Technology Allowance has been increased from ₹7500 per annum to ₹11250 per annum. Professional Update Allowance for non-gazetted employees of Department of Atomic Energy will also continue to be paid at the enhanced rate of ₹11250 per annum.

Cabinet approves recommendations of the 7th CPC on allowances

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the recommendations of the 7th CPC on allowances with some modifications. The revised rates of the allowances shall come into effect from 1st July, 2017 and shall affect more than 48 lakh central government employees.

While approving the recommendations of the 7th CPC on 29th June, 2016, the Cabinet had decided to set up the Committee on Allowances (CoA) in view of substantial changes in the existing provisions and a number of representations received. The modifications are based on suggestions made by the CoA in its Report submitted to Finance Minister on 27th April, 2017 and the Empowered Committee of Secretaries set up to screen the recommendations of 7th CPC.

वित्‍त मंत्री ने बताया कि सेना के लिए जो शांति इलाके में हैं, उन्हें राशन की राशि नकद में दी जाएगी. सियाचिन भत्ता जो उच्चतर है, 31,500 के स्थान पर 42,500 रुपये दिया जाएगा. इसके साथ ही तकनीकी भत्ते में पुर्नगठन किया गया है. स्पेशल फोर्स के भत्ते भी बढ़ाए गए हैं. पेशनरों के 500 रुपये के चिकित्सा भत्ते को दोगुना यानि 1, 000 रुपये किया गया है.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval for development of six laning of Chakeri-Allahabad section of National Highway (NH) - 2 in Uttar Pradesh. 

The cost is estimated to be Rs.3691.09 crore including cost of land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation and other pre-construction activities. The total length of the road to be developed is approximately 145 kms.

The policy has come into force from the date of its publication in the Gazette of India. The policy mandates to provide preference to Domestically Manufactured Iron & Steel Products (DMI&SP), in Government Procurement in which a minimum value addition of 15% have taken place domestically. With over 180 million people in India on Face book, the ‘Register Now’ button is designed to encourage Indian citizens to register themselves with the Election Commission of India. On 1st July, a notification of the “voter registration reminder” will be sent to people on Facebook in India who are eligible to vote. The reminder will be sent out in 13 Indian languages - English, Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Punjabi, Bengali, Urdu, Assamese, Marathi and Oriya.

The Government has granted in-principle approval for a greenfield airport at Jewar in Greater Noida in view of the rapidly growing flying requirements of the NCR region . Announcing this at a press conference in New Delhi today the Minister for Civil Aviation Shri P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju said that the air traffic in the NCR region is growing very fast. From the current level of 62 million passengers per annum, it is expected to reach upto 91 MPPA by 2020 and 109 MPPA by 2024, which would be the saturation point for the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. So Delhi will require a second airport in the next 7-10 years. The minister said that the Government of Uttar Pradesh had submitted a proposal for construction of a new Greenfield International Airport at Jewar in Greater Noida, and the Ministry of Civil Aviation has accorded in principle approval for the project based on the recommendations of the Steering Committee on Greenfield Airports, headed by the Secretary (CA).

One of the officials of Assam Police on Saturday declared that it would recruit nearly 9,000 people by the end of this year against the current vacancy of over 12,000 posts in the force. 

State Level Police Recruitment Board chairman Pradeep Kumar said that “We currently have a total vacancy of 12,000 posts of non-gazetted officers, of which 8,000 are constable ranks. Besides, 79 posts of DSP and 154 inspector ranks are lying vacant,”

ISRO’s PSLV-C38 Successfully Launches 31 Satellites in a Single Flight

ISRO’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C38 successfully launched the 712 kg Cartosat-2 Series Satellite along with 30 co-passenger satellites today from Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR, Sriharikota. This is the thirty ninth consecutively successful mission of PSLV.

PSLV-C38 lifted off at 0929 hrs (9:29 am) IST, as planned, from the First Launch Pad. After a flight of about 16 minutes, the satellites achieved a polar Sun Synchronous Orbit of 505 km inclined at an angle of 97.44 degree to the equator (very close to the intended orbit) and in the succeeding seven and a half minutes, all the 31 satellites successfully separated from the PSLV in a predetermined sequence beginning with Cartosat-2 series satellite, followed by NIUSAT and 29 customer satellites. The total number of Indian satellites launched by PSLV now stands at 48.

As we know the timings of sunrise and sunset are different in Arunachal Pradesh from the mainland, similar is the case with the archipelagos of the Andaman and Nicobar and the Lakshadweep where sunrise and sunset timings are different from the mainland.

Uttarakhand and Haryana declared 4th and 5th ODF States in the country 

Under the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (SBM-G), rural Uttarakhand and rural Haryana have declared themselves as the 4th and 5th Open Defecation Free (ODF) States of India. The two today joined the league of Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh and Kerala, which were the first three states to be declared ODF. Nationally, the sanitation coverage has increased from 42% to over 64% in just two and a half years since the launch of SBM.

New Delhi, 21 June 2017: As of today, all the States and Union Territories (having assemblies), except the State of Jammu & Kashmir, have approved the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) Act. The State of Kerala issued an Ordinance today approving State GST Act while the State of West Bengal had issued an Ordinance in this regard on 15th June, 2017. Now only one State is left i.e. the State of J&K which is yet to pass the State GST Act. Thus, almost the entire country including all the 30 States/UTs are now on board and ready for the smooth roll-out of GST with effect from 1st July, 2017.

7th Pay Commission: Updates on PM Modi, FM Jaitley meet on June 19

Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Finance Secretary Ashok Lavasa held discussions on monday evening on the issue of revised allowances and higher HRA as per the 7th Pay Commission. As per the report of oneindia news, it was decided that they would take up the matter on revised allowances and higher HRA on June 28 during the Cabinet meeting.

Some media are also claiming that both the leaders said that the HRA should be fixed at 27 per cent and revised allowances must be rolled out from July 2017 onwards. PM Narendra Modi was also appraised about the ongoing situation where central government employees were forming human chains in protest. Moreover the likelihood of a major unrest in the case of a delay was also taken up by the PM and FM.
